4 Grad Looks for 2013

Youthink shares its top grad looks for the graduating classes of 2013.

Graduation is the event that you wait for throughout your entire high-school career. So naturally, looking spectacular is a must. Don’t be invisible in the same old boring garb as everyone else – it’s the last big event of your teenage years, so make it count! Whether you’re a hippie or a hipster, a geek or a jock, gliding into the room rocking one of these killer looks will ensure you’re the centre of attention all night long.

Turn to the red carpet for some grad style inspiration.

The 007
Gents, even you cannot deny that Daniel Craig looked hotter than ever in the latest James Bond flick, Skyfall. So why not borrow his look for your senior grad? In a slick grey suit and some snazzy oxfords the girl of your dreams won’t be able to turn you down. Charcoal grey is a great alternative to black and you cannot go wrong with a skinny tie.

The Sequined
If the guys are going to be looking like steamy James Bond clones, you girls are going to have to bring your A-game. What better way to light up the room than in an ornately gilded gown? Along with smatterings of beads, pearls and crystals, the sequin is staging a major comeback. Sequins inject a bit of glamour into everyday sweaters and frocks, and on a black, white or crème-coloured, low-back halter dress à la Lea Michele at the 70th annual Golden Globes they’re simply stunning.

The Debonair
Girls aren’t the only ones who can pick from a rainbow of exciting shades when it comes to grad outfits. Guys, borrow Robert Pattinson’s and Ryan Gosling’s recent trend of red, blue and copper suits and you’re sure to make an impression. Go one step further and sport a dapper and debonair three-piece suit in your favourite colour and you’ll have nailed this season’s vintage-inspired trend as well!

The Classic
Don’t want to stray too far from the traditional prom dress? No worries. This year the red carpet was filled with classic-cut strapless gowns. Actors Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lawrence and Zooey Deschanel all opted for them at the Globes. Choose a patterned fabric or add an unexpected belt to update your look instantly.
