American Idol castoff’s debut album a great start.

Some might remember James Durbin as the rock star with high-functioning autism and Tourette’s, who placed fourth in American Idol’s 10th season. Memories of a Beautiful Disaster is his first album on which he demonstrates an incredible vocal range. From the slightly overpowering hard-rock song, Higher than Heaven, to the gentler ballad, May, James’s pure talent will leave you in shock and awe. You’d have to be made of stone to not cry listening to May, a song so personal and heartbreaking you’d think Durbin was singing about his own experience. It is clear that this idol is here to stay.
