Turner shows versatility with sophomore album.
R&B/pop artist Kreesha Turner takes a more hands-on approach by co-writing all the songs on her second album, Tropic/Electric, compared to the handful she was involved with on her debut. The album incorporates an unexpected blend of genres, including pop and reggae, flaunting Turner’s heritage as a Canadian artist with Jamaican roots. Rock Paper Scissors brings in a bit of Jamaican Patois dialect, yet is still relatable and dance-worthy for all audiences; whereas I Could Stay brings the same warm, poppy sound that Turner fans are accustomed to. The album proves to set the perfect party vibe while still distinguishing itself from other pop albums.
