People’s Choice Awards Let Fans Pick the Winners

On Wednesday, January 11, The People’s Choice Awards, hosted by The Big Bang Theory’s boisterous Kaley Cuoco, were handed out in Los Angeles.

Unlike the Golden Globes and The Oscars where critics and board members select the winners, The People’s Choice awards lets fans cast the ballots. Voting for their favourites online, it was the people who picked their favourites in movie, TV and music this year.

Among the big winners last night was the final movie in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2, which won for favourite movie, favourite action movie, favourite ensemble movie cast and favourite book adaptation.

With the Golden Globes coming up this Sunday, January 15th and The Oscars just around the corner in February, The People’s Choice Awards kicked off the 2012 awards season with style.

I watched the Peoples Choice

I watched the Peoples Choice Awards and I love Kaley Cuoco - she did a great job. I love the whole idea of the "people" actually picking the nominees and winners. Hears why. Nina Dobrev wasn't even nominated for "Favourite TV Drama Actress" but though the determination of hardcore fans complaining about this mistake, she was thrown in the ballot and became the first to actually win after being nominated at the last minute. Vampire Diaries for the win!

Harry Potter's awards well deserved

I completely agree with the selection of Harry Potter in its various categories. It is great that the series finished off with such success.
