Darkness and I

Darkness is frightening to most,

and yet it calms me...
as a drug calms the nerves,
the dark calms me from my inner storm.

Dark sees the danger in me,
like the calm before the storm.
Dark stays with me through my anger and pain,
like a sailor waiting out the raging waves.
Dark helps me return to a peaceful state,
like the blue sky and slow waves of a good day at sea...

Dark has seen the darker side of me....
the lighter side of me...
has stayed with me the whole time,
never once letting me push it away.

Dark has its arms wrapped around me,
and, for once, I don't want to let go.

Dark, I am falling for you.
I want you to stay forever...
