TEDxKids@BC is just around the corner - and it's an event sure to be filled with empowering stories, life-changing ideas and awe-inspiring moments.
Fourteen youth speakers from across North America will be sharing ideas that can change our world, and I was fortunate enough to have been selected as one of them!
On September 17, 2011, I will be speaking at the Roundhouse Community Centre about how sustainability begins with a smile. I believe that most times in life, it's not about the skills you have – it's about having the right mindset.
I discovered this while working with Youth 4 Tap, a environmental movement I founded with a couple of my friends. Youth 4 Tap aims towards reducing the use of bottled water while promoting tap water instead. Living in a city painted with Dasani-filled vending machines, you can imagine that we've been fighting an uphill battle. But our positivity proved to be our most successful, sustainable asset. A lot of the time, a smile is really all you need.
