The Nifty for Fifty sale located at Heritage Hall on Main Street returned again for the 4th consecutive year. Featuring local designers, vintage clothing and unique pieces, the sale was right up my alley. I couldn't believe the fun items these designers were selling. As part of the hunt and appeal of these types of sales, I thought it was pretty cool that each label had their own private table and clothing rack. Not only could you purchase items, but you could also talk to the fashion-forward designers and collectors about their goods. That personal touch is something often missing when going shopping, and I loved the connection you could have with the seller and other shoppers. Some of the labels represented that day were adhesif clothing, Forsya Boutique, Clutch Jewels and Flightpath Designs.
The minute you walked in through the doors, the atmosphere was an organized commotion of men and women making crazy purchases at an extremely low cost! My mom paid for a beautiful pink purse for only $45, when the original price was $300. Another one of her purchases was a patterned dress at only $10. Personally, I loved all the funky jewelry that was available. Two of my favourite purchases were a necklace with the end of a calligraphy pen attached, and a ring with the face of an old watch. Something that I really wanted to buy were these beautiful mugs in the shape of tree trunks. I truly recommend checking out this sale next year.
I encourage anyone interested in adding individual and unique clothing or jewelry to their collection, to keep an eye out for these designers and labels in your local boutiques.
