Toronto LG Fashion Week Spring 2011

From simple and classy to bold and eccentric designs, models were once again strutting Spring 2011 lines down the runway at LG Fashion Week in Toronto last week. Here's what you might have missed:

1. Despite an extraordinarily hot fashion Week, Canada's upcoming fashion seasons are cool as ever… so they say!

“We are in the season of Canadian cool..." - Robin Kay, main organizer of the event, and president of the Fashion Design council of Canada.

2. Move over Holt Renfrew!

Supermodel Coco Rocha, who introduced Holt Renfrew among other industry favourites in an opening speech at the event, also brought my attention to some interesting up-and-coming designers:

Toronto sisters Chloé and Parris Gordon (ages 22 and 20, respectively) rocked the runways with their new line Chloé comme Parris. Chloé handles the clothing, while Parris designs the jewellery - her railroad track cuffs, compass bracelets, tire earrings and transportation theme was a real eye-popper.
Although it was definitely not as eye-popping as Baby Steinberg's eco-friendly line. With elements such as coffee filters and garbage bag mini-skirts, you definitely won’t forget this Brazilian-born designer.
