Teenage singer leads us into his world
Paramount Pictures, MTV Films, Insurge Pictures and Island Def Jam Music Group have joined forces to direct and produce what may be the biggest music documentary of the year. That's right, the Bieber fever is hitting the big screen.
Admit it, when you read the tagline to this blog post, you couldn't resist but click on it. Justin Bieber? In a film? You wanted to get the lowdown but you weren't proud of it. I'm not going to call the kettle black because my reaction would've been the exact same. So why is the name Justin Bieber associated with so many negative connotations?
I was browsing around the Youthink website earlier today and found a sound-off article by Loren Catotal regarding her views on Justin Bieber haters. Although I don't agree with her on every aspect, I think her article is definitely worth a read. Click here to check it out (http://www.youthink.ca/yt/features/soundoff/it039s-time-bieber-haters-grow). The last line sums up my thoughts exactly: "it's time for the haters to grow up a little bit."
The fact is, Justin Bieber is one of the few modern artists who can actually sing. If you don't believe me, take a listen to the video (recorded live on MTV) below:
Justin may not seem like the most likeable guy to some people; I can even see why at times. There's plenty of room for improvement on Bieber's humility, but can you blame him? I'll bet you $20 that you can't find a single 16 year old who doesn't like to show off. Since I'm pitifully unemployed, you can see that I'm very confident in my belief. In my opinion, Bieber is handling his quick rise to superstardom surprisingly well for someone his age (our age).
By taking on the role of director in Justin's feature film debut, Jon M. Chu says that he hopes to tell Bieber's underdog story in a compelling and genuine way. Maybe a more personal look into Justin's life and career will turn the Bieber haters' frowns upside down. After all, Justin Bieber's rags-to-riches story may be inspiring to young people all across the globe who are struggling to find motivation in doing what they really love.
In a music business where fame and fortune measure success, good ol' raw talent is often pushed aside. Ladies and gentlemen - enter Justin Bieber.
You can catch Justin's film on Valentine's weekend 2011 in a theatre near you. Like I said in my previous blog post, I'm a regular viewer of Jersey Shore. I'm not here to judge anyone else.
Bieber Fever
I liked the movie. I don't think anyone has the right to judge him. I also think that he is an incredibly talented singer and he's doing what he loves. Its his life.
You speak the truth
I must admit, I'm not a Justin Bieber fan. However, after reading your article I've realized that I've hopped on the anti- Justin bieber band wagon without a thought as to why. He's undeniably determined and cunning to be able to stay in the media and prove he's more than a one-hit wonder. I'll be buying my ticket as soon as this one comes out.
That's both mature and
That's both mature and admirable of you to say.
Can't Agree More!
For someone who rose to fame overnight, he has been doing a very good job of maintaining fresh. One has got to admire how a sixteen year old took his passion and went with it. Sure he had a little help from luck but his hard work is what got him where he is at today. I can't wait to check out his movie. I'm hoping it will inspire other youth to take what they love and go for their dreams too.
!! :)
Love this!! Especially the video. Even if you dont like his music, its not questionable whether he has talent or not.
