We continue to laugh and dance along...
With so many negative influences in the media nowadays, a good role model in Hollywood is becoming increasingly rare. Most celebrities are too caught up in stealing their fifteen minutes of fame (Heidi and Spencer, anyone?) to initiate positive changes in the world. And then, there’s Ellen DeGeneres.
With the eighth season of the Ellen Degeneres Show premiering this fall, I thought I’d share with you a few reasons why I think Ellen DeGeneres is oh-so-fabulous (in case you need the convincing, that is):
1) She makes us smile. With her clever one-liners and charming anecdotes, Ellen’s positive attitude has always resonated with audiences. It’s really too bad she won’t be returning as a judge on American Idol next season, but I have to admit Ellen never seemed like the Simon Cowell “bad cop” type anyway.
2) She doesn’t take herself too seriously. While most cover girls try (too hard) to look chic and glamorous in their advertisements, Ellen amps up her silly side instead. During New York Fashion Week, she strutted her stuff down the runway of Richie Rich’s show. The crowd went wild.
3) She is compassionate. Ellen is involved in many types of humanitarian work, especially with animal rescue organizations. She is a vegan and advocates against the use of fur and leather. Ellen regularly receives letters from fans in poor financial health and often responds to them by sending aid their way.
4) She dances like no other. On the Ellen Degeneres Show, she is known to have danced with some of the most notable personalities in pop culture (the Obama couple included). If you haven’t seen her guest performance on the last season of So You Think You Can Dance yet, you’re in for a real treat. Check this out and prepare to be amazed - seriously amazed.
5) She is comfortable with herself. By being open with her sexuality, Ellen is setting a great example for young people who are trying to accept themselves for who they are. While most TV personalities her age are busy making monthly Botox appointments, Ellen embraces the big five-two in all its glory.
Tune in to the new season of the Ellen Degeneres Show this fall. Possible side effects include aching muscles from rigorous dancing, strained face nerves from intensive smiling and a general feeling of fuzziness inside.
Who Doesn't Love Ellen?!
Her show is always so funny! I am always watching it after school or on sick days. She is so genuine with her guests and it is never dull. The things she talks about with her guest, and what she makes them do.. pure entertainment! Dancing with Ellen or being in her audience is definitely on my bucket list.
sumaiya
I think Ellen is hilarious! Her talk show is so original and different from all of the others on t.v!
She's awesome! I honestly
She's awesome! I honestly love coming home after a long day of school and relaxing while watching "Ellen." I don't even know how she comes up with some of her jokes... like the puns about the Royal Couple (William & Kate) and toast and crumbs... that one had me giggling for days.
I love Ellen! She seems like
I love Ellen! She seems so easygoing and a great person to be around. It doesn't matter what kind of day I am having her show can always make me laugh and cheer me up if I need that.
She has the type of attitude that she would be great just to talk to for advice if you ever needed it.
I am glad though that she got off of American Idol. I didn't watch it but it doesn't seem like her thing, I can't see her ever saying something bad to someone.
Who could deny that Ellen is
Who could deny that Ellen is a person? She is so charismatic and has her own special kind of sense of humor. Her work is inspirational and encouraging to everyone. God bless the United States of Degeneres.
Danc it! O-Yes!

ellen. say her name out loud
ellen. say her name out loud and people will know, she is one of the most loving compassionate people not only in the industry but in the world. she makes you want to be around her, she glows everytime she smiles or talks and is so captivating, not only does she stand for the rights of animals but she stands up for people. not gay people or straight people but PEOPLE i think a lot of people on this world forget who we are and forget who they are. ellen is so kind and generous i believe she came in this buisness not to help her self but to help others, cause she saw something in this world that was wrong and she is fixing it.
I know what you mean. I like
I know what you mean. I like how Ellen rarely brings up the topic of her sexuality. In my opinion, many people nowadays center celebrities around their sexual orientation. On the other hand, Ellen does not let her sexual orientation define who she is.
Ellen!!! How can she look
Ellen!!! How can she look that young? She's in her fifties, for goodness sakes! I adore this woman and love what she does. I hope she continues for a long time yet :)
I love Ellen! Her humor
I love Ellen! Her humor comes from such a good place...like it's not malicious or overly sarcastic like a lot of show hosts. And she inspires my dance moves :D
