5 Tips To Help You Transition into High School

For a junior high student, it may feel like forever before you can graduate and finally reach that pinnacle of high school. But, when you finally make it to high school, it’s not surprising if you feel just a little bit scared.

Here are some ideas to prepare you for the transition to high school:

Start Studying!
There are going to be harder tests in high school and marks count for a lot more since you’ll be using these grades to apply for post-sec. Try new study techniques and find
the ones that work for you!

Get Ready for the Drama!
Whether you’re a drama king or queen, or a person who likes to stay away from the whole you-stole-myboyfriend scene, you’re going to be
involved in at least one major drama during high school. Watch an episode of Gossip Girl to study up.

Use Your Teachers!
Your teachers are there to help you out and to help you grow, so make sure to ask them to challenge you and help you improve in your problem areas.

Join a Club or Team
What better way to make new friends than to join a club or sports team? This is a great chance to meet people outside of your normal
social circle and to feel like part of your new school community.

Don’t Be a Worry Wart
If you stress too much about what’s going to happen, and questions keep popping in your head like “Do I have everything I need?” or
“Will I fit in?” you’re not going to have such an enjoyable time in high school. I’m not saying to be a slacker, but try to find a reasonable balance between fun and learning.
