Tips to Revamp Your Resume

In order to increase the likelihood of successfully getting a job, you need to present your potential employer with a resumé that will outshine other candidates’ submissions. And you can do it all in three easy steps. Keep these tips and guidelines in mind and you’ll be set for success!

1. Clearly state your objective. What are you applying for and why are you applying for it? You will appear organized and professional. By tailoring your resumé to your potential employer and highlighting what you want out of the job, you are letting them know you have done your research.

2. Talk about the extras. Add any skills or volunteer experience that you have. Any experience is better than no experience. Employers want to know if you have any special attributes that might benefit them such as a second language or first aid training. Don’t be afraid to toot your own horn a bit!

3. Edit and proof your work. It may seem obvious, but this last step is often overlooked. Is your spelling accurate? Are your dates in order? Don’t be lazy. It only takes a few seconds, and could save you from missing out on a
job opportunity.
