It seems as if Stampede was just a week or two ago and Eclipse just hit the big screen, but summer has once again raced by. If you are anxious about being back at school, you are not alone. Students, teachers and administrators alike all have second thoughts in September. The secret is abiding by these five easy-to-follow guidelines in order to ease your way back into school.
1. Adjust your sleeping pattern in mid-August (too late – I know).
If you are like me, you’ve been rising with The Price is Right; while this seems appropriate for July, it will leave you in alarm clock-shock in September.
2. Go shopping!
Whether you are prepping for grade 3 or grade 11, get the shoes, the shirt and the new binder. Look good so you feel good and be prepared.
3. Get involved in a club or team.
Sorry, but the memories you’re making in high school shouldn’t be about trigonometry tests.
4. Do well in English (says the English teacher).
Chances are if you don’t do well in English, you won’t do well period!
5. Get on at least one of your teacher’s good sides.
How do you do this? Don’t come in late with a Timmy’s coffee unless you have one for the person holding the chalk. I’m joking, of course, but do work with (instead of against) your teachers this year.
