I am a Soldier

I am a soldier ready as can be
I know blood and bodies I will see
All of my allies screaming in pain
The war goes on despite the rain
I'll miss the kids yelling as they play
All of my allies dead as they lay
I already know what I will see
I shake my head in misery
People say I will survive
But soon enough I won't be alive
My life may be cruel
But I must go in this world war duel
I think about the death and despair
All of the gunfire smoke in the air
