Olympics

Olympics
A time for determination.
An event to play for your nation.
Through the cold Canadian snow.
Unimaginable heights competitors are willing to go.
Four years of training.
Skills they've been gaining.
Blood, sweat and tears.
On the slope, ice or track conquering their fears.
Country pride at stake.
The podium they're hoping to make.
It's worth the pain and scars.
It's worth having everything broken.
In front of the crowd, holding your token.
Of gold, ribbon and success.
Standing in the middle you know you're the best.
Twenty-one Olympics have passed.
But this will bring memories to last.
Vancouver 2010.
Let the games begin.
