One World

I look up at the stars
and I block out the lights and cars,
and realize how small we all are.

We are living in a world
with only one chance,
we are all doing a cautious dance
and at a second glance,
we see the damage we have done
and, yet, already change has begun.

Some live in denial
and others accept the truth,
while others decide to be aloof.

Whoever you are,
we have to clean up the mess
and finish what we start, I can't tell you the future,
but I know for a fact
that Mother Nature will give us some flack.

I'm not trying to preach,
but things have to be done
for the past, present and future
generations to come.
