I could feel the gentle lapping of the waves
Down by the ocean shore
The mist that blows caress my face
With trickles of seawater
Cold and frosty
As I close my eyes, and as they
Drop upon my lashes,
I am engulfed by millions of vivid images
Each unique in every way possible
In my mind, I see trillions of sparkling lights
Oranges, lime greens, golden yellows
And in the midst, miniscule sea creatures
Dart about, flashing their opaque
Tentacles, fins, and feelers
Their tingling emotions leave
Marks on my skin so clear
That they might have been tattooed
Soft, grainy sand
Seeps through my fingers
And fly back into the ocean
Free and silent
Gently as the waves shuffle
And the midsummer breeze
Blows, there’s nothing that can
Beat this three way trace of serenity.
