Summer by the Shore

Gold, grainy, soft, shaded sand
Slips off pale fingertips
Cool wind and breeze...
Pounds a sweet shiver in my spine
Sea mist and playful wind chill the skin
Smudged in clouds...painted sunrise...
Roseate hues...
Kiss the soul...
Ice spirited water
Crashes the shore
Sandcastles melt away...
Slowly and silently...
Another is built
In the place of the old
Yet the seashells stain like a memory
Scents of sweet coconut
Sway in the air
And nectarous lemonade
Seeps on my tongue
I run off in the distance
To feel the sea cloak my feet
Hearing the beat of a drum...in my own heart beat
Soon endings seem to footprint the shore...
And a new beginning seems to unfold...
Sadly and sweetly in a summer by the shore...
