Summer

Soft sunlight flutters through the leaves
Warming my tingling face with a welcoming sense of ease
Illuminating the cherry blossoms around my face
Carefully flipping page by page
This book is my life
Perched on smooth branches above sweet, fresh grass
Scents of sunflowers, wisps of laughter
Waft up through the swaying foliage
As the moment floats into my book, to the mind
Time does not matter as cottony clouds drift lazily by
The shade shifts and gentle streaks of sunlight
Break through the scene
As my eyes drift close to this season’s captivating grace.
