7 Fab Fall Trends

This fall is all about bringing back old favourites, with a twist of course. The best of the classics are updated this season with trends ranging from modern ponchos to a new take on ‘60s business attire. Check out some of these must-have fall fashion trends!


Ponchos and cape coats 


Now that the weather is colder, we need a little something extra to keep us warm – and a poncho or cape is perfect for keeping toasty. Wear one with jeans, tights, skirts... anything! From earthy tones to brights, whether they’re fringed, hooded or zippered, ponchos and capes are definitely a must-have this season.


Black and white


You can’t go wrong with black and white; it never goes out of style. Worn together, this high-contrast palette makes for fall’s best combination. From sweaters and dresses to bags and scarves, black and white is everywhere this season. You can use the combo to accent bold colours or wear it on its own from head to toe.


Long skirts


Say goodbye to the mini because lengthier silhouettes are back in a big way – and there are several different lengths to choose from: knee-length, below-the-knee, calf-length and full-blown maxis. Personally, I think the longer the skirt, the better. It doesn’t matter if it’s a wild print or a solid colour, long skirts are a stylish selection this fall.


Lace


Lace is one of this season’s biggest trends and, depending on the garment, it can create an edgy look or a soft feminine aesthetic. Whether you choose a full lace dress, accents of body-conscious lace or even a trendy lace headband, this classic fabric is a surefire way to spice up your look and make a statement.


Sheen


Shiny fabrics are catching the light this fall. A dress with a sheen, or a satiny flowy shirt, is a must-have this season. Forever 21 is a great spot to find something with sheen at an affordable price. The trendy fashion retailer offers a huge selection of shimmering fabrics, and who knows, maybe a drapey silver dress could be a gorgeous addition to your fall collection?


Retro-inspired
