Summer Shoes

Shoes this summer cover a wide range of styles, from the cheekily masculine to the elegantly feminine. Try one of this summer’s top six shoe trends to put that extra spring into your step.

Flatforms

The newest shoe trend this year is the flatform, a hybrid between a flat and a platform. Flatforms are most often seen with a wooden or woven bottom. These chunky shoes create substantial weight to any outfit.

Nude Shoes

Pale, neutral shoes not only pair wonderfully with fun summer dresses, but they also give the illusion of longer legs. Blush-toned shoes complete any feminine outfit, or go for an unexpected twist and look for neutral coloured shoes in another one of this summer’s top shoe trends: the oxford.

Oxford Shoes for Women

Oxfords are no longer just for men. Ladies can now join in the fun with oxfords in every imaginable style. Oxfords can be ultra masculine, woven, done in soft pastel tones or even done as a lace-up heel. The only challenge is trying to choose which style to buy!

Wedge Shoes and Espadrilles

Nothing says summer better than a pair of espadrille wedge sandals. This summer, wedges have become a canvas for decorative prints, textured ropes and geometric shapes. Influxes of various different wedge widths and angles have reinvented the typical wedge.

Clogs

Clogs got all the attention last year, and they continue to be a trend for summer. This once unfashionable footwear is gaining prestige with studs, wooden bottoms and leather uppers. The trick to wearing clogs is to pair them with slightly higher hemlines to create the look of longer legs.

Gladiator Sandals

Despite being a huge shoe trend for several years now, gladiators are just as hot as ever. Generally flat, gladiators ensure that you can walk all day in comfort. To jazz up the traditional gladiator, look for metallic straps or a slight wedge heel. Don’t be afraid to get intricate with a multitude of straps, but simple designs look great too.
