5 Fall Trends for 2010

For fall 2010, designers decked out their models in styles from decades past and creatively added their own personal twists to freshen up tried-and-true trends. Here are five of our favourites for the upcoming season!

1. Menswear-Inspired

Designers took inspiration from Annie Hall and Katharine Hepburn to create menswear-inspired looks this season. Tailored pants were especially significant on the runways with style elements like high-waists, pleats and flared ankles.

Thigh-Scrapers

Over-the-knee boots have been gracing the runways for designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs, and they come in an array of styles (stilettos, flat, rounded toe or pointed toe). The best part is that you can pair them with just about anything. Skinny jeans? Dresses? Skirts? Check, check and check!

Fierce Apparel

A trend that never seems to go away, animal print is back for fall 2010. Whether it’s a fur coat or a simple tunic, the call of the wild is as loud as ever for fall 2010.

Heavy Knits

We all know how hard it is to pull off hefty oversized sweaters, but we need to keep warm, right? Luckily, many designers have created heavy knits in the form of capes, ponchos and cardigans this year.

5. Fur-Ever Glam

What’s more luxurious than a fur coat? Sublime for staying toasty but glamorous, fur is sure to be a hit this season.
