Good Jeans: Great Styles for Every Body Type

Pick the best jeans for your body.

Jeans are an integral part of almost every teen’s wardrobe, so it’s important to buy the right style for your body. What’s trendy doesn’t necessarily work for the everyday girl – in fact, attempts at trendy dressing can result in utter disasters! Only the truly daring can pull off the bright, technicolour skinny jeans rampant in stores over the last year. However, the future is looking brighter for jean-lovers this summer. The three main styles seen on runways and celebs are very wearable. Check them out!

The Boyfriend Jean

The boyfriend jean is characterized by its relaxed straight cut. It’s often seen in a lighter wash with rips and tears. Katie Holmes and Reese Witherspoon popularized the look by wearing their boyfriend jeans rolled to just above the ankles with a pair of patent flats, a look which, paired with a white V-neck, is simple and casual. For those of us who are not necessarily a size zero, these jeans are super flattering and very cool.

Wide-Legged Jeans

Wide-leg flares have the potential to make your legs look miles long – simply belt them at the waist and throw on a pair of heels. In general, wide-leg flares are fitted at the top and fall straight down from the hip to a wide, almost bell-bottom. They can be worn casually, with the hems turned up, or made more formal (like a trouser jean) with heels for a special event. This style is particularly great on tall girls, but cute on just about anyone.

Skinny Jeans

Despite the fact that not everyone can pull it off, the skinny jean is definitely still in. In a light for school days or in a dark wash to create a classier look, skinny jeans always make a statement. Whether you dress them up with heels or keep them casual with flats, skinny jeans look great with spring jackets and should be paired with a looser top. In a classic wash, skinny jeans are amazingly versatile.
