Quick and Easy Summer Hairstyles 2011

Looking for a quick and easy summer hairstyle?

Just in time for those fun-filled days of summer, here are some cute hairstyles that you can easily fit into your busy schedule.

Beachy Waves

Beachy waves are great because they're extremely versatile. Casual or dressy, a wavy hairstyle is perfect for any occasion this summer.

How to create a beachy wavy hairstyle:

  1. Apply a heat protection serum or mousse.
  2. Divide your hair into sections.
  3. Curl each section with a large-barreled curling iron. Start with the middle and work your way down to the ends.
  4. Finish by using a lightweight hairspray that won’t hold your hair down.

The Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid is inspired by the sea and is perfect for a day on the beach!

How to create a fishtail braid:

  1. Divide your hair into two sections (rather than three as you would for a regular braid).
  2. Take about a ½-inch section of hair from the outside of the section on the right and incorporate it into the left strand. Then, take an equal-sized section of hair from the left section and fold it into the right section.
  3. Repeat until you reach the end of your hair and secure with an elastic.

Ballerina Bun

Lastly, the classic ballerina bun is the perfect and simple updo for a night out!

  2. Tease the hair at the back to create volume.
  3. Twist hair and wrap the hair around into a bun.
  4. Lastly, secure hair with bobby pins.
  5. For extra glamour, wear a jewelled headband.
