Figure Skating
If I were to add a new course in our school, I would add figure skating. Since there is an ice rink near our school, it only makes sense to add this class. Even though our gym teachers do take us skating occasionally, it'll be more fun to do it as a separate class. Plus, it'll allow us to learn new things that we couldn't do before.
Listening to Music
Many kids these days are caught up in the hustle and bustle of modern pop music. You know what I'm talking about. Ever heard of, "Baby, baby, baby, oh"? Or "You've got my heartbeat running awaaaay..."? Yes, you have. Most pop songs these days are dissonant, meaningless, repetitive chaotic chords that give you headaches from constant plays on the radio.
Teenagers these days don't understand what real music really is. It's not Justin Bieber or Nicki Minaj or even Lady Gaga. It's the beautiful, moving, dramatic sounds of Ludwig von Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Giuseppe Verdi and many others.
The symphonies, cantatas, arias and operas of these talented composers are real melodies worth listening to. If you play an average student at school a famous tune from Smetana's 'Vltava,' they wouldn't even be able to identify who the composer is. Today, adolescents have never even heard of Smetana. Heck, they've probably never even bothered listening to genuinem music.
In 'Listeing to Music', students will get to enjoy and absorb the harmonies written by our talented ancestors. They will be educated on the importance of theme, rhythm, note values and components of music. The basic concepts of music theory will be taught. They will also listen to multiple compositions and understand their meaning and message.
Once students realize that music is not just cacophonous wails, then this will truly be music to my ears.
Survival 101
You’re sitting in the living room watching a movie with your family. Suddenly the ground begins to shake vigorously and you’re thrown off the couch. When it ends your house and everything in it has been destroyed. You have no food or water. How do you survive?
If I could add a class it would be how to survive if a catastrophic event ever happened. The class would focus around how to find food, shelter, and water, how to ration food and how to protect yourself from predators. It could also teach you how to survive alone or in a group.
There is always a possibility that a tragedy could strike anywhere. Survival 101 could be an international class because everyone should know how to live through a natural disaster. The events discussed in class could be earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and even alien invasions and zombie epidemics. For quizzes and tests the student could be given a hypothetical situation where they are given a few items and must stay alive for three days.
I would take this class because in a TV show the only people who die in the first few episodes are the ones who are too uninformed to know how to stay alive. If a catastrophic event were to happen to me I would want to know how to keep me and others around me alive.
Cloud Watching
When some people gaze at the clouds all they see is an acuminated mass of vapor suspended in the atmosphere, those people are what you would call boring. The cloud covered sky is a world of mystery waiting to be discovered. All you need is a decent dose of creativity and imagination, and luckily for those uncreative bums out there, imagination is something that can be taught.
I believe that a class purely based on adventuring the clouds will teach those lame acuminated mass of vapor watchers to see clouds for the glorious wonders that they are. After receiving the miraculous gift of imagination, those boring folk will be better off, exciting people are always better than boring ones. For the sake of all those poor, uncreative, boring souls, I strongly believe we should have a cloud watching class.
A Class To Rock Your World!
If I could take class in the whole world it would New class; learn something new every day! Every day gain a new experience, and learn something from it. There would be cool teachers, no homework, and lots of fun. It could be bungee jumping one day and magic the other day.
Robotics, astronomy, how to make movies and video games. I would love to learn about everything I want to know instead of things that do not concern me, and my career interest. We always ask the teacher why do I need to know how to do this? How can I apply this skill to my everyday life? And the answer is usually for a job or it has no significance at all.
Learn about everything, and anything. How could you not learn anything or gain any knowledge or experience. This is not just a class for career experience but life experience.
CSI Class
CSI Class
How great would it be to have a crime scene investigation class! Imagine as you enter a pitch black room. You keep walking afraid of tripping and suddenly when your eyes are almost adjusted to the room, a spot light goes on and under the light is a dead body you go and investigate. And then the lights go on and your teacher declares “figure out who killed that person.”
For the next two classes you get to look at clues, crime scenes, weapons and suspects. In that period you get to watch mystery movies and CSI episodes, so you can also relax, it’s not all the time work, work and more work. So technically this period wouldn’t even feel like a period! I think it would be phenomenal to have this class because then you get an opportunity to know what it’s like to be a professional detective! In conclusion I would so love to be in this class and I would definitely join!
I would love to have a class
I would love to have a class like that because I'm really interested in solving crimes and stuff like that.
The Experience of a Lifetime
Have you ever heard a fantastic song on the radio and wished you could write something like that? The melodies of the song just making you want to get up and dance and wished, why can’t I do that? I know I have. That’s why I would add a music producing course to the school system if I could.
First of all, everyone loves music. There is not one person on this planet that doesn’t like music. It’s everywhere, in the lives of each and every person. So why not add a class where writing and making/producing music is an option? You’d be able to have the experience that the top artists and composers have by creating your own songs. Bring your iPod in and use it as a studying tool by listening to lyrics and interesting techniques used in your favorite songs!
At the end of each month, you could send your song to a record producer and maybe he’d even decide to produce it, making you an instant star. Someday you could even grow up and BE like your favorite artists. This optional course would be marvelous and they are definitely much needed in the junior high schools throughout Canada.
A Better Nation
Imagine that you could have a class to help someone in need or just in your school who has been hurt. Helping somebody by telling them that they are just as important as everybody else. Doing a good deed for the day, trying to save a life and feeling happy about at the end of the day.
As many of you know there are charities that help families in need like The Mustard Seed, and The YWCA. Also many schools have bullies and people who are being bullied. So this is a class to help people and make the world a better place for everybody. Also learning to be a good person, in your school and community.
a course for school.
I would add an origami class. We are put to the test if we are able to use our fingers physically in an advanced way. We learn new things to make and we won’t have to waste any paper this way when we have too much. This would be fun and entertaining for students because if we are not sure of something we could ask each other for help.
His would also be entertaining for teachers because if they are having a long, ungrateful day they could fold a lame piece of paper into a wonderful origami piece. Maybe if you had a special someone one you could sneak a flower in their binder, or you could get fancy and fold your home work into a flapping bird and hand that in, try your chances for bonus marks!
There is many reason why this would be great class especially if your competitive in paper folding and out do all your class mates just for fun!
