Grade 12 student Taylor Sarchet is heartbroken as she prepares to say goodbye to the red jerseys of the Tamanawis Wildcats senior girls’ soccer team.
As a young sophomore at Tamanawis, Sarchet discovered her strengths in sports and decided to perfect her skills on the pitch in order to be one of the best. “I practice with my metro club team three times a week and have a game every Sunday,” says the midfielder who is also known as “T” for short. “On top of that, there is school soccer, which is three times a week. I play aggressive, yet smart. I know when to make a tackle and when to hang back. I feel I know a lot about the game and I am good at helping others with it,” she continues.
Taylor is involved in other sports, but her true passion lies in soccer. “Soccer became my sport when I was very young. I have been playing since I was five. The sport makes me feel comfortable. [It’s] the one place I truly belong, and most of all I love the intensity,” the talented athlete explains.
She is also enthused by the amazing opportunities that have come her way through soccer. The sporty brunette has received a scholarship to play for Kwantlen’s soccer team, the Eagles, for the 2009-2010 season and Taylor is ecstatic about playing for one of the best soccer teams in Surrey.
Taylor Sarchet is one of Tamanawis’ greatest female soccer players. We are happy the Eagles will have the opportunity to play with such a dedicated athlete.
