Surprise Winner at the 150th Anniversary British Open Championship

For many golf lovers, Louis Oosthuizen’s British Open win yesterday at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland, was a surprise victory. Considering the South African golfer, ranked only 54th in the world, was up against more familiar names like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood, Louis was not the obvious winner.

However, beating his competitors quite handily after four strong rounds, he left the course with over $1.3 million in prize money along with the Claret Jug in his hands. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods tied for 23rd place, Phil Mickelson tied for 48th place and Lee Westwood came in a far second.

Below is the list of top 10 golfers at the British Open; as well, check out EPSN’s Open Championship Leaderboard for more details.
