Twilight: Eclipse

Your itch for vampires will soon be cured with the arrival of Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight series. We caught up with some of the cast members to talk about their roles in this upcoming blockbuster. Check out other 2010 summer movies in our sneak preview >

Actor: Tyson Houseman Character: Quil Ateara Hometown: Edmonton, AB

 

 YT: Millions of twi-fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the third movie in the “Twilight” series. Are you one of those fans? Have you read the books? TH: Yes, yes I have. It’s one of my favourite series. But to be considered a twi-fan, I think that would be something that takes a lot of dedication. You have to be constantly updated all the time. I’ve been involved, but not at all to that extent! YT: How do you relate to your character, Quil Ateara? TH: I’m a native American teenager and I feel like I’m in search of new experiences just like Quil. YT: Did anything funny happen while filming Eclipse that you can share with us? TH: I do remember this one time during our break, all of us “werewolves” were playing a friendly game of football. I wasn’t exactly paying attention so one of the “werewolves” threw the ball 10 feet into the air and I got smacked right in the face. It hit my nose, and my makeup was messed. It was fun, but I didn’t think the makeup crew was impressed!
Actor: Jodelle Ferland Character: Bree Hometown: Nanaimo, BC

 

 YT: How would you describe your character, Bree? JF: Well, Bree, even though she’s on the evil side, she still has a good heart. She can’t really help what she is and inside she really doesn’t want to be a monster. She can’t help being a vampire because that’s what she’s been taught. YT: What are you most looking forward to for the release of this movie? JF: I’m looking forward to the red eyes. (laughs) YT: How did you like working with Taylor Lautner? JF: Actually, I didn’t get to work with him that much, but I did get to meet him... really nice person. YT: What was it like to work with the other actors on this film? JF: I learned a little from everyone. They’re all really professional, but friendly too. They help me a lot both on and off set.
Actor: Boo Boo Stewart Character: Seth Clearwater Hometown: Beverly Hills, CA

 YT: What was it like waiting to find out if you got the role of Seth Clearwater? BBS: Oh my gosh, I was so nervous. And then you get the call and it’s like, “Oh, you can’t tell anybody.” But then, after a month, when I actually called my friends and told them, they were like, “Yeah, we know.” I was like, “What? How?” and they’re like, “It’s all over the Internet,” so that kind of ruined the surprise. YT: Did your martial arts training help you prepare for your role as a werewolf? BBS: That’s hard to say, but I believe it did. There was this one fight scene I did that required some physical force and of course my workouts paid off. YT: You’ve had experience in both the movie and music industries. Which are you most passionate about? BBS: I love them both in different ways. Music you get in front of the fans, meet new people, and acting it’s more like playing someone that could be totally different from you.
