Athletes Walk the Red Carpet at the 2010 ESPYS

The achievements of the best athletes this year were once again celebrated at the annual ESPYS Awards, which took place July 14th at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by comedian and actor Seth Meyers, the ceremony highlighted the many shining moments in the world of sports this year – some memorable enough even to catch the attention of non-sports lovers. To the pride of Canadians across the country, the Best Game award went to the Olympic Hockey Championship Game when Canada edged out the USA in overtime. Other notable winners included snowboarder Shaun White, who won ESPY awards for Best Male Action Sport Athlete and Best Male US Olympic Athlete, Sidney Crosby, who won the Best NHL Player award and Serena Williams, who won the Best Female Tennis Player award. An unsurprising loser for Best Male Golfer this year was Tiger Woods, after the chaotic year he had; instead, Phil Mickelson took the award.
