Twi-hards young and old gathered at Vancouver’s Sheraton Wall Centre from May 14th to 16th for what was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The Twilight Convention arrived in Vancouver and gave fans an opportunity to get up close with some of their fave Twilight actors and take in some good old entertainment, Twilight style!
Day one kicked off with The Hillywood Show, which creates parodies of popular films. These hilarious parodies/sketches are created by two sisters, Hannah and Hilly and Hindi. The Hillywood cast was amazing as they welcomed the audience and also showed a screening of the extended version of New Moon Parody.
Later that day actor Bronson Pelletier, a local actor from Vancouver who plays Jared, one of the werewolves in the upcoming Eclipse , was available to answer questions from the fans. Not to mention, I am sure the ladies were super excited to be in the same room as Bronson!
The Twilight convention was also filled with many interactive games, which included a, “How Much of a Twilight Fan Are You?” trivia contest giving contestants a chance to win some great prizes.
The timing of the convention was great with the release of Eclipse just about a month away. And just to build on the anticipation, those at the convention got a sneak peek of the Eclipse trailer in the theatre room. The day ended with fans getting more autographs, great photo-ops and doing a little Karaoke with Bronson Pelletier and another actor, Kiowa Gordon, who plays Embry.
The remaining two days of the convention was filled with more appearances from stars such as Cameron Bright (Volturi’s Alec), another BC actor, Vancouver’s Jodelle Ferland's (Bree) and a nighttime Volturi Vampire Ball!
The Twilight Convention wasn't just some boring little festival, as everybody had nothing but huge smiles on their faces when the three-day Twilight extravaganza ended.
