Though the slick grey and black packaging may look simple, Sharpies are anything but. Beyond the traditional pen-to-paper approach, Sharpies can be used for a variety of different things in your day-to-day life. Throw a wide assortment of colours into the mix, and you've got a great tool on your hands. Here are some of the best uses for a Sharpie. Try them out!
1. Clothing transformer
Got a plain white t-shirt that needs an upgrade? Sharpies are a simple way to customize a shirt. Sketch (or trace) a design onto your boring old tee, and all of a sudden, you've got a graphic t-shirt masterpiece!
2. Temporary tattoos
Thinking about getting an "I Love Jane 4Ever" tattoo on your forearm? Test drive your prospective tattoo with a Sharpie first. It's cheaper and much less painful. But beware: not everyone's going to like the"I Love Jane 4Ever" idea. Come up with your own personal sentiment and get some "ink."
3. Shoe designs
Jazz up a pair of ordinary canvas sneakers with a few Sharpie marks! The only challenge is that drawing on your shoes while they'e on your feet is a bit tricky; if you plan to try this out, be sure to take a few yoga classes first.
4. Nail polish
Say you're at school. You're sitting at your desk, when you casually glance at your fingers. You realize something's wrong; you forgot your black nail polish! No sweat. Just whip out your trusty black Sharpie, and go crazy on those little suckers. Just remember not to bite your fingernails afterwards.
5. The Yearbook Approach
When you've got a Sharpie in your hands, anything can become a yearbook. My personal favourite is the yearbook pants. Hand your friends a Sharpie and ask them to sign your old jeans. Keep it below mid-thigh, though.
6. Barbie Makeovers
Remember those old Barbies that you've got kicking around in the back of your closet? Give them eyeliner, lipstick and more with your Sharpie. It's best to have different colours on hand for this. Otherwise all your Barbies will become Goth Barbies. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
7. Hair accessory
Who says you have to uncap a Sharpie in order to make it useful? Girls (and maybe some guys), twirl your hair around the marker, and then stick it in close to your scalp for a messy-chic bun. You'll look "sharp" tres chic!
8. Wig colouring
If you've got a wig at home that just isn't the right shade of red, blonde or whatever colour you'd like to change, pick up a Sharpie (or two) and start colouring. You might even want to go all out and draw stars or tiger stripes into your hair. For a wig, homemade highlights will more than suffice.
9. Beauty marks
Like Cindy Crawford and Marilyn Monroe, you too can have a cute little mole (temporarily anyhow) on your face. Dab a little dot just a bit higher than your top lip on the side of your mouth. Work it, supermodel!
10. Stained glass windows
Windows are so boring these days. They're just so – transparent! Well, you can fix that. Sharpies can create delightful stained glass windows right in your very home. However, you may have to explain to many a tourist that your house is not, in fact, a 14th century cathedral.
