Pop! by Gordon Korman, tells the story of Marcus Jordan, a young football player who meets a legendary ex-football player, Charlie Popovich.

When he meets Charlie, Marcus learns about a whole new side of football - enough to get him on his new high school's exclusive team.

That's where he meets Charlie's son, Troy Popovich, the extraordinary quarterback on the school's team, and from the beginning, it's rivalry.

They disagree on everything: from Alyssa, the ex-girlfriend to football to Charlie.

Marcus then learns a secret that the Popovich’s are determined to hide, and there comes a point when he must make some difficult choices.

Facing many challenges, Marcus finds ways to do the right thing...but it does get him in trouble.

I really enjoyed Gordon Korman's creative writing style and talent with words. It is a simpler reading book - great for younger teenagers - but it has a storyline interesting enough to keep teens of all ages entertained.
