Tom Dolby makes his debut with the amazing teen novel Secret Society. The story takes place in scandalous New York City, profiling the lives of four Upper East Side teens. Born into some of New York’s wealthiest families, these teens already live the lives most adolescents can only dream of; however once they are inducted into The Society even their wildest dreams begin to come true. The new society members receive elite internships, fine art showcases and wonderful business opportunities. However, their new-found success comes at a price.
Dolby lures you into his world of The Society in such an intriguing way that it is nearly impossible to put the book down. He plays with the idea that it’s a rich man’s world – the rich become richer because of a society that aids them in any way to become as successful as they can be. Dolby does well with the very insightful, engaging and provocative Secret Society. If you are a fan of Cecily von Ziegesar, author of the Gossip Girl series, then you are sure to enjoy this read.
