2010 Summer Blockbusters: A Sneak Preview

Ah, summer. The time of year that calls for frivolous movie watching, complete with 3-D glasses, popcorn and super fans. Instead of leaving you on your own to have a mental debate about which movies to see in the theatre, we’ve already dissected the biggest features of this summer for you!

What to Watch

The A-Team - June 11th

In true Prison Break style, this film follows four American mercenaries accused of crimes they did not commit. After escaping the sadistic military prison, the team allies with pilot H.M. Murdock as they work to clear their names. Previews of the movie, based on a TV series that ran in the 1980s, showcase well-executed heaps of gunfire and explosions. Brace yourselves, guys.

Toy Story 3- June 18th

When their owner heads off to college, Woody and his friends are left at a daycare with kids who don’t always play nice. Things get worse when they start to hear horrifying tales of Sunnyside Daycare, so the toys plan their escape. This third movie in the series chronicles their adventurous escapade (reminiscent of the first in the series), but this time in complete 3-D glory.

Jonah Hex - June 18th

Who would’ve thought that we’d see Megan Fox in the Wild West? Alongside Josh Brolin, this shoot-’em-up comic book adaptation is a delicious mix of action and sci-fi with a dash of horror. Anti-hero Jonah Hex must overcome a personal quest to figure out good from evil.

Ramona and Beezus - August 13th

The charm of Beverly Cleary’s best-selling children’s novel has been translated to the big screen. Ramona is an accident-prone grade 3 student and she doesn’t always get along with her older sister, Beezus (Selena Gomez). But being siblings doesn’t always equal dislike – especially when their home is in danger and they must work together to save it! With a strong cast and an irresistible plot, you don’t have to be eight years old to be captivated by Ramona and Beezus.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse
