A chilling tale in a post-apocalyptic world.
What's the story?
The world has been destroyed - a result of a war won by corrupted machines. All that is left behind in the post-apocalyptic era are nine rag dolls brought to life by a brilliant scientist. The dolls, each named after a numeral, are different from one another both in physical appearance and personality. When they encounter one another, they soon realize that 9 (Wood) is the one doll that can help save them from the B.R.A.I.N., the most perilous machine of all. Not only does B.R.A.I.N. create other machines, but he also steals the souls of the rag dolls, feeding its own life. The rag dolls must all ban together to destroy the evil machines, and create a world where they can live in peace.
Why see it?
Director Shane Acker has collaborated with producer Tim Burton to transform a once short film, into a full-length feature film. Filled with intense action scenes, an original, thought provoking plot and topped off with a powerful soundtrack. There is action from start to finish and the special effects are amazing. 9 will have you on the edge of your seat begging for more.
Problems?
If you’re looking for a relaxing night at the movies and wanting to watch a light film, you’ll want to skip this one. There are chilling scenes of death and destruction and many moments of distress and may not be the best movie to watch with your younger sibling.
All in all:
A great, action-packed movie with spectacular special effects.
