What’s the story?
Picking up where the last Hangover left off, Phil (Cooper), Stu (Helms) and Alan (Galifianakis) are back for another memorable bachelor bash. Set a few years after the party in Las Vegas, the groomsmen fly to Thailand for Stu’s wedding. However, Stu hopes to prevent the mistakes made in Las Vegas by keeping his bachelor party as tame as possible. But when soon to be brother-in law Teddy joins in on some pre-wedding fun, the night quickly takes a turn for the worst. Waking up in Bangkok the next morning, the trio has little memory of what happened the previous night and discover that they have lost Teddy. With more questions than answers, Phil, Stu and Alan spend the next couple days scrambling to find Teddy and putting the pieces of their night together with the hope of saving Stu’s marriage.
Why see it?
Although Hangover Part II had some huge shoes to fill, it is a great comedy that keeps audiences laughing. Filled with original jokes and loveable characters, it was an extremely entertaining film to watch. Using even more crude and graphic humour than the first film, fans will be shocked but appreciative of the little surprises the sequel offers.
Problems?
For those expecting a different storyline, you're going to leave the theatre disappointed as Hangover Part II uses the exact same plot as the original. As a result, the audience will be left in a state of déjà vu, making this film a little less thrilling in comparison to the first.
All in all:
A hilarious comedy with a repetitive plot.
