Heigl and Kutcher's onscreen chemistry makes for an enjoyable rom-com.
Rating: PG
Stars: Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Tom Selleck, Catherine O’Hara
What's the story:
Fresh out of a bad relationship, Jen Kornfeldt (Heigl) accompanies her parents (Selleck and O’Hara) on a vacation to France where she meets Spencer Aimes (Kutcher). Little does Jen know that Spencer is actually an undercover, government-hired, super-assassin. When the two fall in love, he trades in his dangerous career for the woman of his dreams. All seems perfect until three years later, when the happy couple learns that there is a twenty million dollar bounty on Spencer. Even worse, the killer could be anybody: a friend, family, the grocery store clerk, or even the homeless man down the street. Jen and Spencer embark on a whirlwind adventure to find out who wants Spencer dead and why.
Why see it?
At first glance, Killers may seem like a spin-off of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but this is definitely not the case. This unique plot line makes for a great date night movie or for a night out with the girls. Kutcher and Heigl’s perfect personalities for romantic-comedies really complement each other and they have great chemistry from start to end. Killers will leave you nothing short of satisfied.
Problems?
Killers is filled with many ridiculous moments of things that seem impossible and are really unnecessary, so realism is not a strong point of this film.
All in all?
A great film that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first explosion to the last gun shot.
