Life As We Know It

4 Stars

Heigl and Duhamel pair up as unlikely parents in this heartwarming film.

Rating: PG
Stars: Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel, Josh Lucas, Alexis and Brynn Clagett, Christina Hendricks

What’s the story?
Holly (Heigl) is a professional caterer who has her life all in order. Messer (Duhamel) is a promising sports director who is living his life to the fullest. The thing they have in common? Their best friends, Alison and Peter, are married to each other. After a disastrous first date set up by their friends, Holly and Messer vow to never see each other again. But when Alison and Peter are killed in a tragic car accident, Holly and Messer are listed as caregivers of their friends’ baby in the will. The two are now responsible for raising Sophie – together – so they have to find a way to juggle their careers while becoming new parents and tolerating each other.

Why see it?

Josh Duhamel’s abs. Need I say more? Yes, those puppies do make an appearance in the movie. When his abs are absent, there’s always his gorgeous face to look at. Apart from that, both actors show off their signature acting styles – quirky yet relatable. The adorable baby, played by twins Alexis and Brynn Clagett, is just a bonus. With laughter, tears and plenty of “aw” moments, this is a perfect date movie.

Who should skip it? Problems?
This is a romantic comedy that will obviously appeal more to girls than guys. Guys, if you are looking to please your lady and you want to have a laugh here and there, then give Life As We Know It a try. It might not be your favourite movie of the year, but it should leave both of you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

All in all:

A heartwarming movie that will make you laugh, cry and smile.

Great Review

I enjoyed this review. It does sound like the perfect movie to see with a boyfriend. It's interesting that Heigl played the organized, put together character in 27 Dresses as well. She definitely does play the "quirky, yet relatable" character.
