The Missing Link (Will Arnett), Dr. Cockroach, Ph. D. (Hugh Laurie) and B.O.B. (Seth Roger) are on their best behaviour while meeting their fellow monster Susan/Ginormica's parents in DreamWorks Animation's "Monsters vs. Aliens."
What’s the story?
A meteorite full of Quantonium hits ready-to-be-married Susan Murphy (Witherspoon), making her body grow to enormous proportions. The government quickly steps in tagging her as a monster, and whisks her away to a secret government compound that serves as a home for a number of other monsters. Among the motley crew, Susan meets B.O.B. (Rogen), a Jell-O experiment gone wrong; The Missing Link (Arnett), a scaled seaman; Dr. Cockroach (Laurie), a mad scientist who infused his DNA with a cockroach; and finally the enormous, fuzzy mutant bug, Insectosaurus. When an evil alien invades earth to take over the world, it’s left to this group of misfit monsters to band together and save the world. In saving the world, Susan learns not to judge a monster by what it’s made of.
Why see it?
Directors Rob Letterman (Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2) have helped create another PG movie masterpiece that will light up the eyes of kids and adults alike. With a storyline that keeps go-go-going and lovable characters such as Insectosaurus and B.O.B there’s no reason not to give this fun-filled, action-packed, animated sci-fi a chance.
Problems?
Those who don’t like animation obviously won’t enjoy this movie.
All in All:
A feel-good action movie fit for people of all ages.
