Captain Jack Sparrow is back and on a search for the fountain of youth.
What’s the story?
The infamous Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) returns in the highly anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In this fourth installment of the Pirates series, Jack Sparrow is joined by Barbossa (Rush) on a search for the coveted fountain of youth. Along the way, Jack is reunited with Angelica (Cruz), a lost lover from his past who happens to also be the daughter of Blackbeard (McShane). Of all the dangers that the Captain encounters along the way, it is Angelica who might be the one to fear the most. Are her feelings for him sincere or does Angelica and Blackbeard have a plan of their own?
Why see it?
If you’re a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, this is definitely a must-see summer flick. Fans will go crazy for the new characters and a brand new adventure. Best of all, there is much more focus on our favourite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow.
Problems?
As great as it is to have new characters in this movie, On Stranger Tides is missing some of the beloved characters from the first three movies, such as Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). As a result, the storyline is altered causing disappointment for those of you expecting plot consistency from one film to the next.
All in all:
A pleasing pirates’ tale.
