Rayne cannot wait to get away from her over-possessive boyfriend and her mother, who takes her for granted. The hustle and bustle of city life is also of no interest to her as she seeks isolation.

So when a new job brings her to Morton's Keep where she experiences solitude for the very first time, she is determined to stay. Living in a cabin with a brutal history, Rayne experiences a desire to flee the mystical place at nightfall but doesn't because she refuses to go back to her old lifestyle.

Moreover, her new friendship with the gorgeous and mysterious St. John strengthens her desire to live at Morton's Keep and explore its secrets despite her nightmares and trepidations about the creepy old mansion.

Kate Cann captures the various moods of Rayne to perfection, bringing this supernatural romance thriller to life. If you like Twilight or the Chosen series, you'll enjoy Possessed. It's a true page-turner, especially once Rayne meets St. John and falls under his spell.
