What to Submit

Please review the sections in Youthink Magazine and see how your article will fit into one of the following categories!

School Life: Be a reporter for your school! Write in about anything interesting or unique that is going on at your school. If possible, send in photos to go with your articles. Additionally, send in a close-up of you and a few friends (along with each person's full name and each person's home phone number) and see if it appears in one of the next issues!

Teen Issues: Send in your opinion articles: talk about current events, respond to past articles, discuss controversial issues, address teen issues or send us a rant!

Fashion: Report on seasonal trends, give style tips, interview local designers, etc.

Careers and Education/The Road Ahead: This section is designed to give students tips and help with their future. Do you have any insight on how to get work? Do you know of any new career possibilities? Post-secondary options? Let us know! The Road Ahead includes career-related articles, study tips, career profiles, Words of Wisdom articles (advice from teachers/counsellors/professionals) + more!

Question of the Month: Every month we hold a writing contest in the feature section. See contests for details. You can also email a close-up picture of you (or you with one or two friends) along with a short quote for this section. Don't forget to include everyone's full names, home phone numbers, emails and which high school you attend!

Sports: Wanna be a world famous sports journalist? Get your start with Youthink! Write about any sports issue, sports team or nominate an athlete for "Athlete of the Month"! This is a great way to build your portfolio and gain experience.

Entertainment: Send in your reviews of CDs, movies, local bands, etc.! The entertainment section breaks down as follows:

  • Local Music Interviews and CD reviews of BC and Alberta artists
  • Music Interviews and CD reviews of international and national artists.
  • Movies Movie reviews, interviews with actors

Creative Submit your poetry, artwork or photography!

For Fun Submit horoscopes, quizzes, cartoons, riddles, most embarrassing moments, puzzles, book reviews, top 10 lists - anything fun or funny!
