R&B vet's latest release fails to make an impact.

Nearly five years after her last studio album Afrodisiac was released, Brandy has put out a new disc full of songs that reflect upon her life over that time period. A line she sings in the track Piano Man basically sums up the feel of the whole album: "Play me a song about heartache, I promise I can sing every word." Aside from a few catchy beats and well-written lyrics on tracks such as Right Here (Departed) and Long Distance, this release is generally quite bland and could easily be lost among the countless mediocre albums by fellow heartbroken R&B divas.
