Thank You Happy Birthday has a few too many misses to be a hit.

Cage The Elephant has grown since their first album, but they have yet to figure out how to pull together a consistent album. Thank You Happy Birthday has some of their most brilliant moments as well as some of their most disappointing failures. Evidence of the latter can be found in the song Indy Kidz, which consists of chanted insults and a messy tangle of instruments. However, they do pull off select songs beautifully – 2024 is both catchy and impressively unique.
