Eels

4 stars

The Eels break out of depression while singing of smitten werewolves in new album.

The album tells a tale of a smitten Hombre Lobo (werewolf in Spanish). Although Mark Oliver Everett, also known as “E,” speaks through a fictional character similar to past projects, this album still manages to stand out. The Eels have broken their usual depressed melodic blend with twelve new songs of love and happiness on Hombre Lobo. The twelve songs are perfect for lying on the beach or listening to when on a road trip this summer. From the blissful All The Beautiful Things to the explosive Tremendous Dynamite, Hombre Lobo is perfect for any summer moment.
