Frank Turner: England Keep My Bones

4 stars

Frank Turner’s lyrically diverse new album promises listener satisfaction.

"It doesn't matter where you come from. It matters where you go," sings Turner in the track Peggy Sang The Blues. Though the guitar playing is excellent and the patriotic theme of the album is original, the lyrics are truly the focus of England Keep My Bones. When he's not paying homage to his home in England with lyrics such as, "an island is my home" in the song Rivers, Turner might be expressing his love for music in songs such as I Still Believe. After listening to his latest album, it's easy to see why Frank Turner has had so much success. Though this record leans more toward the folk genre, England Keep My Bones still retains an energetic punk sound.
