Goldfrapp dives “Head First” into '80s synthpop with latest album.
From the very first track to the last, it is clear that one of the major influences of this album is the electronic eighties. The fast-paced, rhythmic and pulsating beats in tracks such as Shiny and Warm and I Wanna Life are so addicting and catchy that it’s impossible not to find yourself humming the tune long after the music has stopped. While Goldfrapp’s previous album, Seventh Tree, contained a more organic sound, with its ambient sound and focus on nature, Head First proves that the light-headed, '80s synthpop sound is sure to impress.
