Gorillaz: The Fall

Deliciously electronic and unabashedly different.
The Fall is British musical project Gorillaz's fourth studio album and was released less than a year after smash hit, Plastic Beach, made its way into stores. Perhaps their most unique effort to date, The Fall was recorded completely on an iPad, in various hotel rooms over a 32-day period during Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach tour. This album, from the country-esque Bobby in Phoenix to the technologically captivating Shy-town, daringly pushes the boundaries of music. Although not for everyone, the technological sounds, computerized voices and sounds of nature help to create a project that is undeniably magnetic and surprisingly cohesive. With sparsely-placed vocals and repetitive instrumentals, The Fall is the type of album to listen to on a lethargic summer’s day.
