This fierce rock 'n' roll trio's latest album comprises 12 killer tunes set to follow their upbeat gay-rights single, Standing In The Way of Control, with just as much of a dance-punk element and of course, frontwoman Beth Ditto's skyward-soaring strapping vocals.
The band's fourth album opens with Dimestore Diamond's fidgety bass totter before you're launched into the bands full-blown modish groove with Heavy Cross. The record proceeds to revolve around the theme of love, the word itself appears in three song-titles including Love Long Distance, a fitfully extraordinary number.
With the help of legendarily producer Rick Rubin, The Gossip has composed a tightly wound edgy album. The combination of its immensely satisfying wiry groove, Ditto's charismatic vocals and guitarist Bruce Paine's ranging riffs, Men in Love ultimately begs you to put on those dancing shoes.
