Jenny Owen Youngs: Transmitter Failure

Witty songstress returns with a more upbeat yet lyrical sound.

Youngs' latest album is about communication. Her songs reinforce this central theme about the triumphs and failures of communication and relationships. And in the midst, Youngs doesn't fail to delight with her clever ballads and upbeat sound. From infectious rock/pop gems like No More Words or Last Person to the slow and sweet Nighty-Night or Here is a Heart, Youngs' sophomore effort works cohesively. "I wanted to make something that would move people emotionally, but also physically," says Youngs. And she clearly has not failed in her goal.
